Gaga: “I was bankrupt”

Lady Gaga has admitted her 2009 Monster Ball tour left her bankrupt.

The singer told an EPIX documentary “I had three million dollars in the bank to my name and I threw it all in to make my stage. So I was bankrupt during the show.”

She had to reassure her family it was the right thing to do, with her father confused that her success wasn’t making her rich. She continued…

“I remember I went home and I was with my dad and he said, ‘I don’t understand. ‘Bad Romance’ is out. You are all over the radio. Everyone is talking about you and you don’t have a pot to piss in’.”

The Just Dance singer recently performed a controversial set SXSW in Texas.
