The assisted dying debate has been one of the most sensitive political debates of our age. It’s deeply personal and complex. That, by the way, is fine. Everything is personal and complex, and seeing this debate held with poise and respect for other people’s views gives me great hope.
I can understand both sides – but I feel, on balance, this debate is about choice. It’s about giving those in incurable pain the choice to do what they feel is best for their bodies.
