Introducing… History Undone

I have a new show to introduce you to. Well, it’s not new. It’s well established. Very well established. In fact it’s so well established, with such a loyal and dedicated fanbase, that I have been more nervous about taking on this show than almost anything I have done before.
It’s called History Undone, and you will find it on Times Radio’s History channel. Every week, we take a moment in history and imagine if things had worked out differently. This week: what if the gunpowder plot had succeeded? It features the retired Royal Navy officer and historian Rear Admiral Dr Chris Parry, CBE alongside another expert in that week’s subject. And then me, trying desperately to keep up.
It was hosted by my friend James Hanson, but he left to join LBC so is effectively dead to us. He and Chris did such a great job that I have been reading the comments through my fingers since my first episode at the helm was published this week. Thankfully, most people seem to think I got away with it. Let’s see if that lasts. In any case, I am having a great time picking the brains of some very smart people and learning about extraordinary moments of history, and reimagining a different outcome. It’s genuinely fascinating to consider how, in the blink of an eye, things could be so different.
So… here we go. You catch watch my first episode of History Undone: the gunpowder plot, right here:
