Branson Offered Tom Fletcher Space Trip

McBusted star Tom Fletcher was offered a trip into space by Virgin boss Richard Branson, if he could beat his son at a video game.

Speaking to me at the start of rehearsals for their new tour, Tom said he’d like McBusted to be the first band to perform in space before revealing the strange encounter.

He said that Richard Branson had offered him a $250,000 ticket on the Virgin Galactic space craft if he could beat his son at a game of space invaders. Unfortunately, Tom lost and the band will have to settle for an arena tour and a headline gig at Hyde Park instead.
