talkRADIO: Patrick Hutchinson – Everybody Versus Racism

In the summer of 2020, in the heat of the Black Lives Matter protests, an image of Patrick Hutchinson made the world stop and pay attention.

It was an image of Patrick carrying a counter demonstrator to safety after being hit by a bottle. It was a rare symbol of unity and compassion in a scene of fraught disagreement and violence. It captured something – a glimmer of hope – a flicker of humanity.

Now, Patrick has written a book – Everybody Versus Racism – a letter to his children about race, inequality and the role he played in such a defining moment.

I spoke to Patrick on my talkRADIO show about how it felt to be at the centre of such an iconic moment.

Everybody Versus Racism is out now and available to purchase HERE.
